Empty rooms photograph badly. Buyers scrolling a listing find it hard to judge the size and feel of a space with nothing in it, and physical staging costs time and money for every property. These skills help an agent, photographer or property manager make listing media from the photos they already have.
What you can make
- Staged rooms. Upload a photo of an empty room, pick a style (modern, Scandinavian, mid-century modern, industrial, coastal or Japandi) and get the same room furnished. The skill asks the model to keep the walls, windows, floor and camera angle, and to add only furniture and decor.
- Several looks for one room. Run the same photo in two or three styles to show buyers what the space could be, or to match the style to the likely buyer.
- Listing videos. The free Real Estate Slideshow Maker turns listing photos plus the address, price and agent details into a short video, made in code so the text is always exact.
How it works
Virtual Staging is an AI model skill. You upload the photo on the skill page, tick that you took it or have permission to use it, and run it. The photo and a tested prompt go to an image model, and the result is saved to your account, where you can download it. Uploads are deleted after seven days.
Tips for good results
- Shoot straight on, at about chest height, with the lights on and the blinds open.
- Use a wide shot that shows the floor and at least two walls, so the model can judge the scale.
- Clear small items first: a box left in the corner may become part of the furniture.
- Check every result before it goes in a listing. Look at windows, doors and floor lines, and run it again if something moved.
Be honest with buyers
A staged photo shows what a room could look like, not what is there. Label virtually staged photos where your market asks for it, and keep the original photo in the listing too. Buyers who feel misled at a viewing rarely become buyers.

Questions
- What does virtual staging do?
- It takes a photo of an empty or nearly empty room and returns the same room furnished in the style you pick. Walls, windows and the camera angle are meant to stay as they were.
- Do I have to say a photo is virtually staged?
- Many listing services and local rules ask you to label virtually staged photos. Check your own market's rules and your listing site's terms before you publish.
- How much does one staged photo cost?
- Virtual Staging runs online with credits at the model's API price plus our margin. The exact price is shown before you run, and new accounts get free runs to try it.
- Which AI model is used?
- Virtual Staging uses Nano Banana 2.1, Google's image model, which can edit an existing photo instead of making a new one.
