UGC ads are the short, phone-shot style of video that fills TikTok, Reels and Shorts: a product in someone’s hand, on a kitchen counter or a desk, with bold captions over it. They work because they look like the feed around them. Making many of them by hand means many shoots, edits and caption passes. These skills cut that down.
What you can make
- Product shots in a real-looking setting. The Product in Scene Ad skill places your product in the scene you describe (“on a bathroom shelf next to a plant, morning light”) and animates it with handheld-style camera motion.
- Captions that carry the message. The Animated Captions skill lays a caption block over a clip and highlights each word as it is spoken. It transcribes the voice on your computer, so you don’t need word timings.
- Variations to test. Change the scene, the hook line or the caption position and render again. Testing three hooks is cheaper than guessing one.
A simple UGC ad recipe
- Write the hook: the first line people will read. Keep it to one short sentence about the problem the product solves.
- Make two or three product clips in different scenes with Product in Scene Ad.
- Record the voice-over yourself or with a voice tool you trust.
- Join the clips in an editor, then run Animated Captions over the result.
- End on a clear call to action: the product name and where to buy it.
Keep it honest
UGC-style video is a format, not a licence to invent customers. Don’t present an AI clip as a real person’s review, don’t make claims the product can’t back up, and follow the ad platform’s rules on disclosure of AI-made content. The ad will also run longer if people trust it.

Questions
- What is a UGC ad?
- UGC means user-generated content. A UGC ad looks like a post from a real customer or creator rather than a polished studio spot, which is why it blends into a social feed.
- Can these skills make a fake customer review?
- No, and they shouldn't. Use them to show your product and your own message. Presenting an AI clip as a real customer's testimonial misleads buyers and breaks most ad platforms' rules.
- Why add captions?
- Many people watch social video with the sound off. Captions keep the message readable, and word-by-word captions also hold attention.
- Do the captions cost credits?
- No. Animated Captions is a code video skill that renders on your own computer, so there is no API cost.
